Wild Ponytail Dress
The Wild Ponytail Dress was inspired by a moment on a hilltop, where a group of white horses moving freely across the landscape. There was something incredibly effortless in the way they walked—no urgency, no direction, just a quiet sense of ease. What inspired was the way the wind lifted their manes and tails, creating a soft, rhythmic movement that felt both natural and unrestrained.
This dress is about translating that feeling of lightness and freedom into form. The movement of the dress is designed to echo that same softness—fluid, slightly undone, and instinctive. The layered construction at the back creates a sense of motion even when the body is still, almost like a ponytail caught mid-air, carried gently by the wind.
Ver.1
The first version is developed using silk chiffon and silk organza, combined with delicate lace. The layering of these sheer materials allows the lace to appear subtly through the surface, creating a soft, almost blurred texture rather than something overly defined. The overall feeling is extremely light and airy, giving the body a sense of ease and lift when worn.
Ver.2
The second version is created in silk velvet, offering a completely different expression of the same idea. The texture of velvet has a depth and softness that feels almost like skin, bringing the concept closer to the body. This version is particularly suited for winter brides, where warmth and structure become part of the experience. The back of the dress features a sculptural, layered train, constructed to resemble the movement of a ponytail, with each layer building a sense of volume and flow.
The edges of both version are finished with French Leavers lace, adding a refined detail that balances the softness of the silhouette while maintaining a subtle sense of control.
